WSPÓŁGŁOSY is a project by Marcel Baliński, a Polish composer, pianist and cultural animator. The ensemble consists of a choir of people with intellectual disabilities and a jazz trio of young Polish improvisational musicians.
The project combines contemporary composition with a therapeutic and critical approach to the arts, aiming to empower people with intellectual disabilities and contest discriminatory practices. Through collaborative music-making, the ensemble provokes reflection on hierarchies and prejudices against people with disabilities, showcasing their creativity and quality of performance on a par with non-disabled musicians.
